My First Giveaway – Kernel Season’s Popcorn Flavorings
Popcorn is not usually regarded as a healthy food but in my opinion it should. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that huge bucket of popcorn from a movie theater is a healthy stuff, because it’s not. It’s soaked in butter and sprinkled with enormous amount of salt. According to WebMD movie theater popcorn ranges anywhere from 400 to 1,200 kcal depending on size from small to big. That definitely is not a low calorie snack but trust me if I say that popcorn can be a good and a healthy snack. It all depends on what kind of popcorn and a portion you’re going to eat. I always buy 100 kcal mini bags of popcorn. Such popcorn is much lower in sodium and fat. Orville Redenbacher’s Smart Pop has only 1.5 g of fat per 100 kcal bag, 4% of sodium and 3 g of fiber. Considering quite large volume of a bag it is a healthy and filling snack. The only problem people might find with low fat, low sodium popcorn is a lack of taste and that iss where Kernel Season’s comes in. It adds flavor to your popcorn without adding unnecessary calories or sodium. What could be better than a lot of flavor and not a lot of calories
Kernel Season’s offers a wide variety of popcorn flavorings from sweet like caramel to cheesy ones. I had a chance to taste their newest invention, Pumpkin Spice flavor and it is delicious. The best thing is that all of the seasonings can be used not only on popcorn but in any recipe you can only think of. I add Pumpkin Spice to my coffee (yumm) and I am planning to add it to my Thanksgiving sweet potato mash. I also can’t wait to use butter flavor on a whitefish, buttery flavor without the addition of butter…..win.
In a giveaway I want to give to one person four flavors seen below (Kettle Corn, Nacho Cheddar, Milk Chocolate Caramel and Ranch). To have a chance to receive those 4 flavors all you have to do is leave a comment with a dish idea (other than plain popcorn) featuring chosen flavor from the ones I’m showing here. So for example you can write “I would use nacho cheddar to flavor omlette because I love flavor of melted cheese with eggs” etc.
I will be collecting responses till October, 31 (Halloween night) till midnight and I will choose a winner on Tuesday afternoon. I will choose a winner based on the creativity of the dish idea. Oh and I am really excited since it is my first giveaway ever. Hope I’ll see some awesome responses
Good Luck.
Update
I loved all the answers and it wasn’t easy to chose but I had to. The winner of a giveaway is Sabrina. Her answer was carefully thought out, she gave 5 different ideas and all them sounded scrumptious, well balanced and creative. I especially liked the idea of sprinkling white cheddar on the vegetables that are about to go into the oven. It sounds like a great way to add more flavor to some boring veggies. Who knows, even kids might like it that way
Thanks everyone for participating.

One thing I’d do with the milk chocolate caramel variety is to put it on the popcorn and then slow add a glass of low fat chocolate milk to that popcorn, just enough for the popcorn to soak it up. I recall a similar idea from “Farmer Boy” by Laura Ingalls Wilder which my mother read to me as a child. I’ve tried it as described in the book and I think this would be an interesting twist on it.
I would use the Ranch seasoning on popcorn and add it to a fresh salad. It would be great alternative to croutons. That would fun and light!
I’d make those popcorn balls that my son loves and add the Milk Chocolate Carmel to his (and the Nacho Cheese to mine!)
I would use the ranch seasoning in tin foil chicken and vegetable dinners, burgers, mashed potatoes, etc. The milk chocolate and caramel would be yummy sprinkled over apple slices, and the nacho cheese would be perfect in a taco salad.
Thank you!
I would use the chocolate and caramel variety on my favorite snack: bananas. I would sprinkle the ranch kind on buffalo chicken tenders. Yum!
I’d sprinkle the Kettle Corn flavor on some waffles before I poured some honey on top. Now that sounds just delightful to me! Yum!
Thanks for the giveaway
I bet the ranch would be a great additional to a chicken salad!
I would use the Milk Chocolate Caramel and sprinkle it on Chex cereal and eat it as a healthy snack.
Hmm, I wonder how a banana would taste with the same kind sprinkled on it?>
I am know as the popcorn queen around my house and by my friends. I have tried the butter, nacho, cheddar.I would like to try some chocolate, and pumpkin, the endless things I can do with them, I would be in the kitchen all day popping popcorn all day the world would me mine lol
I would use the Kernel Season’s Ranch to sprinkle on top of homemade pasta salad, with, tomatoes, onions,
cucumbers and green peppers mixed up in a large bowl. I would use Ranch on top because I love the zesty flavor and I wouldn’t have to use alot of mayo calories. I think this would make a great sidedish at any tailgaiting party!
There are so many options for using the seasoning however I have only tried the savory flavors so far. Nacho cheddar would be great sprinkled on a spaghetti squash and baked so it develops a sort of crunchy crust. The White cheddar flavor I would sprinkle on top of vegetables that are just about to go in the oven to be roasted, for example broccoli or brussels sprouts. The ranch flavor would taste great as a salad seasoning instead of real ranch dressing.
For the sweet flavors, I’m sure the pumpkin spice would taste awesome sprinkled on top of a baked apple in addition to honey. I would like to try the Milk Chocolate Caramel flavor on top of some frozen (or just plain) yogurt! Yummy
Thank you for posting in this site I will bookmark this site and tell my friend about this nice site to blog…
